A few road projects are affecting traffic in the Shoals this month, so expect delays in the following areas:
The widening project continues on Wilson Dam Road between the railroad overpass and Old Highway 20. Crews have been repaving one lane at a time in that area.
Highway 72 will also be resurfaced east of Killen on a three-mile stretch between county roads 31 and 421. That project is expected to take a month and a half to complete.
A major resurfacing project will begin Sunday, July 23rd on Highway 43 between Muscle Shoals and O’Neal Bridge. Contractors will resurface the highway from the railroad tracks near the intersection of Second Street and Woodward Avenue, all the way to O’Neal. Crews will be working at night to avoid heavy traffic times, but there will still be delays. ALDOT says the workers will be on site from 6:00 in the evening, and work until 6:00 in the morning.
